Simone has extensive experience in advising and litigating on intellectual property law issues, with a focus on trademark law, design law, copyright, advertising law and media law. Simone is also an expert in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Law and Master of Commercial Law cum laude, Simone started her career as a lawyer in 2014 at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, intellectual property section. Here, she has assisted well-known multinationals, as well as start-ups and non-profit institutions. She has broadened her skills by also working in the transaction practice of mergers and acquisitions for 2 years.
In 2023, Simone started her own business as a legal advisor. In this context, she worked as an interim legal counsel for a renowned Dutch research institution. This has given her insight into the position of in-house counsel and strengthened her expertise in the field of contracts.
Driven by her broad interests, Simone has also studied psychology and history. She plays the lyre (musical instrument), loves painting and has a degree in fashion design. The latter even led to an exhibition of her work during Amsterdam Fashion Week. Simone’s experience with design often comes in handy in matters of product design.
